We raise and teach our young children to behave in a way that is appropriate and accepted in our culture. Respect is an important factor.
Being beyond that, however, we are in many cases negligent of ourselves. We expect our toddlers, the young age group, to be respectful of adults, the elderly, it may just not be in them to have self-esteem.
Just as Thanksgiving is not part of everyone’s life. It would be necessary to notice in our immediate vicinity the beauties that are always there in our vicinity, we just don’t even notice them. Either not because their presence is so common, or because pessimism overrides all beauty. Yet we should practice gratitude daily in our own lives, But if we don’t respect ourselves and don’t even love ourselves, how natural would it be to notice other beauties?
Our self-esteem is an inner force, a driving force that can fall below the threshold due to many factors and as a result our world becomes more distorted. To be able to give thanks for anything, start the line with yourself first. Give thanks that we can be healthy at all.
It’s just one thing to give gratitude to ourselves, but the constructive nature is represented by laying down in writing what we’re grateful for, or even saying. Moreover, we need to look for good qualities that we can appreciate within ourselves. We also have to look for what was positive in us once, we were proud of it. It’s probably still in us right now, it’s just been so long since we’ve forgotten about it.
How insignificant and small things seem like these, right? Yet by becoming aware of these, we can find ourselves back and find the good things, the beauty, in ourselves.
