We live in a stressed world, but many people are stressed because of stress. And there are those who do not break emotions, but suppress them. This internal tension can not be sustained for a long time, and will sooner or later manifest itself in some way.
When we do our job and do not think about what is depressing, disgusting, or delighting, our emotions in the neighborhood are just as damaging. Because we do not think at all times of the day what is happening to us, the events are still taking place. Even if we try to pretend we're relaxed. The appearance, however, is often cheating. Anyone whose life is about to crumble, but nothing from the outside shows this sign, it can still rage within. When we get accustomed to not showing our emotions, we are always suppressing ourselves, otherwise they are trying to break through.
Whatever happens to us, we feel a sense of something, and we can later recall what happened. But when we suppress emotions, the memories associated with it are stored very deeply in our hearts and minds. So we can not even cite what happened. We do not want to remember either, memory almost erases data, or we lose memories because of memory damage. Like when the files on your computer are damaged, they are present but unusable. This is also the case with events associated with suppressed emotions. If there are memories of a bad event, the brain is trying to store it but we try to pretend it does not exist. This is a contradiction that works our minds as it works twice: to save the memory and to choose among those that we want to forget. Double work can lead to mental fatigue, even if this happens continuously.
We want to frustrate the bad experiences and the unpleasant feelings associated with it, but the brain works. Especially at night, as you process the events of that day. If we suppress our emotions, we can not talk to anyone, we can not reduce the internal tension in any way, it affects the quality of sleep. The number of no-sleep or bad nights can be increased, with which all the inconvenience of sleep is paralelly.
When our brain is overloaded, because it has to put too much energy on the suppression of emotions, beyond fatigue, too, sadness, anger and fear can be associated. During the long-lasting emotion rejection, oxytocin production is reduced, which is a natural stress-reducing hormone.
Other unpleasant signs of suppression of emotions include high blood pressure, weight gain, headache, digestive problems, wrinkles, skin problems, and other illnesses.
