It is difficult to understand the importance of staying home with those over the age of 70, as in their experience, things full of fear can survive, said generation researcher Krisztián Steigervald on the M1 on Tuesday.
He explains that those born before 1945 argue that they survived the horrors of war, deprivation, confinement, and those born between 1946 and 1964 grew up under the influence of services, during the Cold War.
This generation is now in a situation where the enemy is not visible, where they do not shoot or bomb in everyday life, yet they are asked to stay at home, Krisztián Steigervald pointed out.
Another feature of the generation is that it is strongly task-oriented, it does not rely on the younger ones, its children, which also makes the situation more difficult, he added.
According to him, about a third of people over the age of 65 live alone in Hungary, ie the social relations of more than 600,000 people are mostly limited to daily administration. Unlike other age groups, many of those over the age of 65 cannot relax in the online space either, Krisztián Steigervald noted.
