The garden may always have been an important part of the house, but even a foot of land will play a much bigger role in the coronavirus period.
As spring breaks in, as the sun shines, we yearn for the outdoors. This may now be limited to our yard again and if we have a garden we are really lucky. The garden has an even bigger role if there are children in the family. By constraints, children have now fallen into the world of learning from home again, and many parents by them.
Smaller families with children have probably already thought about turning the garden into a playground somewhat, but a garden is good if it serves multiple needs. Many have found that it is not worth crowding the yard with too many playground elements because children quickly get tired of toys and bulky toys become unnecessary pieces of outdoor furniture. It is worth designing the garden to have space for play, but it can also be a community space that can also accommodate guests (and then, once our normal lives return). A garden can also be suitable for creating a kitchen garden, ie we can add another function to it.
The garden is an extended, outdoor continuation of our home, suitable for relaxation and recharging for adults, but it is also an excellent playground for children, where even learning can take place. The small garden should also be divided so that there is enough space. As a toddler, forget about expensive and difficult-to-care plants. Even older children can damage delicate plants simply by playing in the garden. If you still want to see beautiful flowers, more expensive pots in the garden, they should be placed less near the fire.
When planting kitchen garden plants, children can also help or even be given a separate area to plant. In addition to education, this is also an experience for work, as they can see their own small plants hatching and developing.
As a family with small children, let's think about having enough space for children to play and play ball. One where they can enjoy the open air, the sunlight, the game more relaxed. There should even be a place where a sandpit can fit. Kids love to play with the materials of nature. Undoubtedly, this comes with some dirt, but it not only provides effective engagement, but also improves fine motor skills. The mixture of sand and water is an excellent game and develops skills great.
The garden can be home not only to plants but also to animals. Many insects, reptiles, and birds can also be found there beyond our own pets. Joint discovery and observation can begin.
