For the time being, a large number of rural higher education institutions maintain absenteeism education ordered due to the coronavirus epidemic, but opportunities for facilitation in education and examinations are also being explored.
On Monday, with the exception of Pest county and the capital, the exit restriction due to the epidemic was lifted. The visit of students of higher education institutions may be decided by the rectors, but the visit of colleges remains prohibited. András Gelencsér, Rector of the University of Pannonia, said that since students cannot move back to the dormitory, the previous order of education at the university will not be restored yet, and absentee education will continue. As he said, they are looking at the possibility of how they will be able to take the exams in absentia, but they are also planning to take exams that can be taken in person.
The operative staff of the University of Pécs (PTE) will examine the possibilities of facilitations in education and exams on Tuesday, and then, after consulting with the faculties and the student self-government, will make proposals to the rector, the institution said. State examinations are held at the University of Pécs in personal presence if this is justified by the specifics of the course. In these state exams, maximum care is taken to maintain proper distance and strict adherence to hygiene rules.
The rector of the University of Miskolc has decided that distance education will continue in this period of diligence and examination period, and notifications about it will be sent out on Monday, the rector's office said.
All faculties and training sites of the Ferenc Gál College (Szeged, Gyula, Békéscsaba, Szarvas and Budapest) will maintain the system of absentee education introduced in March, and students will not be able to visit the institutions until the end of the second semester. The possibility of holding the final exams in person will be decided later, they wrote on the institution's website.
According to the previous announcement of the Rector and the Chancellor, education at the University of Debrecen continues to take place in digital form, but . Students can only take exams to an educational building or visit the library. Previously closed dormitories will remain closed during the academic year, but dormitories participating in final exams and internships will still be available in dormitories that still receive medical students, foreigners and Hungarian students from abroad.
