Summer is a period of holidays, vacations, waterfront fun, garden parties and festivals. We can’t wait to surrender to all of this.
After a long school year, children can’t wait to get rid of the daily stressful learning. The winds of summer break might have hit them right now. The long, learning-free period fills the seedlings with joy. However, adult life is about something completely different. Work does not stop only during the holidays, and the family vacation is also scheduled for this time. No wonder summer means something different to them. This time of year can even cause headaches, and doesn’t necessarily bring happiness to anyone: the parents.
For families with small children, the summer break is too long for one or the other parent to take care of the child. And we can hardly talk about a period spent together. It is difficult and in some cases almost incompatible.
Today's family structure is different. Several generations no longer live together, so the help of grandparents is not so clear either. Even if the grandparents live, in many cases they live further away and it is even necessary to reckon with the fact that they are also active workers.
It was still quite clear to those who had children in the 80s and 90s that they spent weeks with their grandparents in the summer, taking a huge burden off their parents. No wonder placement of children is a big headache in many families.
If grandparents are not (always) available, another option should be considered. Those who are qualified or untrained, but reliable, recommended by someone or living in our circle of acquaintances , are happy to offer a good solution with their services. It is best not to move baby children out of the home environment either. their care and entertainment is solved.
The other, used by many, is to take advantage of the camp cause. There are so many to choose from. The slightly larger ones can already try out the self-defense camps, so they can take another step towards independence.
Whichever solution helps families, care should always be taken to ensure that parents spend at least the weekends with their children. It doesn't matter what quality they do, of course. If possible, it is still worth spending at least one week together, coordinating parental leave. Even if the holiday doesn’t happen this year.
