Expectations about Christmas gifts change. While it was customary in the past to give most of our everyday items, clothes, kitchen utensils, or usual festive gifts to each other, they are often complemented by various gift presents. Our everyday experience in this area is also supported by research data: based on the data of a national representative survey commissioned by Spirit Hotel in Sárvár, many people would like to see experiences and wellness-related surprises under the tree.
Every year there is a big dilemma about how happy your loved ones would be for Christmas. Though most of them still give their usual festive gifts, it turns out that with a surprise that gives a real experience, you can get much more pleasure. This year's 10-year-old Spirit Hotel in Sárvár has been looking for an answer to what kind of gift would be given and the Hungarians would like to receive for Christmas.
Most of us would enjoy a wellness experience
Based on the results of national, representative research, almost half of the respondents, 43 per cent, would have the greatest pleasure with a wellness benefit. In second place, 37 percent is home long weekend. On the third stage of the podium there were smaller or larger items (28%), and the usual festive gifts (books, sweets, flowers) were 23 percent of the respondents. Krovina Kovács, Sales and Marketing Director at Spirit Hotel, said that the popularity of gift vouchers purchased for Christmas is growing year by year, thanks to the fact that most hotels have been able to choose from the elegant gift cards.
The research also sought to answer the question of how we relate to each type of surprise as a donor, how much we depart from the usual. It turned out that while many would be very pleased with the experience, we are somewhat more conservative as a donor: many of the respondents most often make "traditional" surprises under the tree. 72 percent responded that they regularly give regular gifts, 47 percent smaller or larger everyday items. 20 percent of the respondents regularly give a wellness voucher for Christmas as a gift and sometimes for 47 percent.
Among the adventure gifts, wellness and travel are the hit
The research of Spirit Hotel in Sárvár also looked at the most popular experiences. Based on the results, wellness, travel and hotel gift vouchers are the most popular, and 64 percent of respondents would like to give such a gift. This is followed by gift vouchers related to various cultural programs with 38 percent, gastronomic and restaurant gift vouchers with 35 percent, and sports and movement related vouchers with 21 percent.
