Even if we love summer, it can also have many negative consequences. One of them is the fly, but perhaps even worse is the presence of mosquitoes and other stinging insects such as bees or wasps.
At least the fly doesn't bite, but it can spread disease, and the mosquito excels at both. Although we consider bees to be the most important organisms for honey collection and pollination, wasps also help in pollination and maintaining the ecosystem. In other words, no matter how useless we consider their presence, they actually have an important role. The other question is whether they can cause us inconvenience.
These creatures have a lot to do and use in our garden, and if we live in an environment rich in plants, their presence is unavoidable. However, the interior of our home and the terrace are places that we already want to enjoy and make insect-free.
If you want a bee- and wasp-free terrace or balcony, then apply preventive measures and solutions. You should only think about things that do not harm these beneficial insects or the environment.
By choosing the plants, we can do a lot so that we don't have to constantly scourge these insects. Choose ones that do not overly attract bees and wasps. Make sure that the plants do not have a strong smell or bright colors, because these attract insects.
If our garden produces fruit, we pick it after it has ripened so that the sweet-smelling and tasty delicacies do not attract insects. Kitchen scraps and waste are always carefully sealed away from the outside world, because they are just a big temptation.
If your garden is regularly maintained, insects will also avoid it, because they prefer overgrown and untended, lush vegetation.
It is not only worth paying attention to our home, but also to the fragrances we use. Sweet drinks, perfumes, and even dish soap can be attractive to bees and wasps. Let's try to avoid them.
If their presence is unavoidable despite all precautions, we at least use natural insect repellants. Essential oils can be perfect for this. Lemongrass and mint naturally repel insects. They can also be used during garden parties.
If for some reason it is still necessary to reduce the number of wasps and bees, then use a trap that helps control the population, but does not harm the insects.
