Do you also enjoy orchids, which can show something different in their colors and the shape of their petals? The only problem is that you have to enjoy someone else's because yours are not blooming?
We have brought you some advice, which, if you follow, has a good chance of persuading the already living plant to show you and others its flowers.
Light
Orchids like bright but indirect light, so place them where they get enough light, but not direct sunlight. If there is not enough light in your home, get a lamp to replace it.
Temperature
Orchids like a warm environment, but avoid temperature fluctuations. The optimum temperature for most breeds is between 20-25 degrees Celsius during the day and around 15-18 degrees Celsius at night. The cover does not wear well, so take care of that!
Irrigation
Orchids do not like too much water, but neither do they like drying out. If the top part of the plant's rooting medium has dried out, water it thoroughly, then let the top layer of soil dry out a bit before the next watering.
Steam
Orchids like high humidity. If your home has dry air, you can use a vaporizer or place a bowl of water nearby to increase humidity. If you have several plants, keep them together because they can increase the humidity together.
Nutritional solution
Orchids require nutrients to bloom. You can buy a special orchid nutrient solution, which you can add weekly or biweekly for watering with water. However, beware of overdosing, as it can damage the plant.
Resting
Orchids also need a period of rest to promote flower formation. During this period of approximately 1-3 months, reduce the watering and feeding of the nutrient solution. Place the plant in a cooler place (approx. 15-18 degrees Celsius) and reduce the amount of light.
Banana juice
It may seem strange at first, but if the banana peel does not end up in the trash, but instead you cut it up, dissolve it in 5-8 dl of water in a mason jar and let it stand for a day, then filter the water and sprinkle it on your plants, buds may soon appear.
