After the coronavirus, we are now faced with the price increase generated by the war. It's not good at all, but if we can't change inflation, then we have to change some of our habits.
In a welfare society, we treat many things lightly and only realize how wastefully we live when some kind of restriction is introduced. This is the way it is now, with energy carriers and almost everything else rising prices. We are forced to tighten our belts and manage expenses in a completely different way.
Think about how much you spend on what. In other words, make a list of your major expenses and think about whether your usual consumption was justified or whether you can reduce it in some way.
The weather outside is even warmer, but it can be quite chilly in the evenings and mornings. Even so, ventilation should not be skipped, but it can now be significantly shorter. However, during the day, in sunny rooms, it is worth opening the windows wide so that warmer air can enter. There is typically a period when we don't want to heat it yet, and during the day it is warmer outside than in our home. In the evening, however, it is worth lowering the blinds and drawing the blackout curtains, which help keep the heat in the rooms.
If you have already started the heating, make sure that your home does not heat up unnecessarily. If you are not at home, there is no one to warm you. And if you do travel, an even lower temperature is sufficient.
I think everyone agrees that food accounts for a significant part of our expenses. All this costs even more if you order ready meals. If you want to save money, no matter how hard it seems, still prepare the best of your food. It's okay that you don't always have the opportunity to do this and ordering seems like a quick solution, but if your stated intention is to reduce expenses, then definitely buy the ingredients for even more cooking. Prepare the meals and you'll be safe up to a week in advance. You can put them in the fridge, but you can store frozen food for weeks. If you prepare several dishes at the same time, you can also save money and work more efficiently if you keep the hob clean and use lids on the dishes. It is also necessary to keep the refrigerator and freezer clean. This is not only good for hygiene reasons, but you also help it function.
Washing becomes cost-effective if you don't throw in small amounts. Wait for a portion to accumulate and choose a program that is also gentle on the wallet. You can also use a consumption meter to make sure which program has the lowest consumption.
