After autumn, we can expect winter, i.e. cold. We not only think differently about clothing, but also about our meals. Instead of cooling dishes, we now prefer warm dishes.
We crave warmth not only in food, but also in drinks. The time for iced teas and coffees is over. And this is where different teas come to the fore. We Hungarians mainly switch to teas in the colder seasons. Watching TV at home and having a family conversation can also become more cozy if we do it all next to a hot cup of tea. This is especially so in the case of a seasonal illness. Tea is therefore good for our soul and body.
Just as many people love to drink coffee because the process of making it is itself a daily ritual, we can be exactly the same with tea making. Choosing which plant to boil and how to flavor it is at least as much of an experience as when you do it with coffee.
The plants used for tea are much more than those that give flavor to hot water. most of them are medicinal and can be used for various ailments, and can also be used as poultices. We drink it to rehydrate, but we also like to sip it because of its medicinal effect. Our tea consumption increases during the cool autumn and cold winter.
Although hot tea is not a cure in itself, even doctors recommend drinking plenty of hot tea during a cold season. With a research, they looked for the answer to the question, does warm tea really help to overcome the disease sooner? One part of the participants in the experiment drank the tea cold, while the other part drank it hot. People suffering from colds who drank cold tea did not feel any change in their condition, but most of their team members who sipped warm tea claimed that the unpleasant symptoms appeared less after consumption. In this sense, you can be interpreted as a placebo.
It might not even occur to us to drink tea in other seasons, but as the cold weather sets in, our desire multiplies. Green tea is quite often consumed alongside herbal teas, and this is very good because the positive effect of the antioxidants in it has been proven. It can not only help you lose weight, but also relieve cold symptoms and prevent the onset of the disease.
