“Chalk paint,” or chalk paint
Many people think that “chalk paint” is the same as black board paint, however, after a little tracing, it soon turns out to be a completely different method. The full name of the paint is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, or ASCP for short. Twenty years ago, an English lady, Annie Sloan, invented this kind of paint, which is characterized by the fact that after drying it turns into a matte effect like chalk. If you are looking for a truly unique and modern piece of furniture, be sure to try this matte paint, which is otherwise made of water-based, natural materials, is environmentally friendly and also odorless. It is surprisingly easy to use, you can also use it on wood, metal, plastic, textiles and the biggest bonus is that you can paint your old furniture with it everywhere without prior sanding.
Board Paint
One of the easiest and most fashionable ways to renovate old furniture is to use board paint. Novice DIYers and those with less dexterity can also start with peace of mind. You can use the paint on the whole furniture, but you can also paint it in smaller details. For example, in the case of a cabinet, you can only repaint the doors, or in the case of a desk, only the table top. Kids will definitely be passionate about new furniture, as they can make new and new drawings and inscriptions on black surfaces at any time with the help of chalk. Not only is furniture painted with board paint practical in children's rooms, but also in the kitchen or living room, where you can write messages to your family members. You can also have an agenda, a to-do list, or a shopping list. Spring is coming, the gardens and balconies are slowly turning green. A balcony box or tile smeared with board paint also looks great, on which you can later write what kind of plant you planted in it.
milk Paint
You can also choose milk paint to renovate retro furniture, which can be done with ease by novice DIYers. An added benefit is that these paints are made from 100% natural ingredients. With their help, you can conjure modern, matte-looking surfaces on your old furniture. You can apply this thousand-face paint to furniture of any material, and even more so as a board paint without sealing the surface. If you want to deviate a little from the usual, paint geometric patterns on your bored furniture, triangular or pentagonal patterns are very fashionable this year. Only your creativity can set the limits for trendy decoration.
+1 Stencil
With the stencil method, you can easily toss even the most boring furniture. Plus, it works great with all of the techniques listed above. All you need is a well-chosen, preferably self-adhesive stencil, colored paint and a little dexterity. If you want even more special furniture, we recommend using the 3D stencil. This technique is definitely tried by advanced artisans and do-it-yourselfers, as in this case not only the sample has to be painted around, but a special paste has to be placed in the recesses of the stencil, and then carefully rolled down.
We hope we’ve brought your favor to a little creativity and you’ll try these simple techniques on your bored furniture as well. And if you also have a super-creative idea, do not hesitate to send your entries to MVM Paksi Atomerőmű Zrt. Alkotó Energia AGAIN! a competition.
