A difficult period has greeted us, as far as the heat is concerned. It's fine that it should be hot in summer, but extreme heat takes its toll on a healthy body, but especially on children, the elderly, and the sick.
A cool or air-conditioned room, drinking plenty of fluids, light meals, exercise or tasks timed for the morning or late afternoon. These are the ones with which we can effectively protect ourselves against sunburn or heat stroke.
By the way. What is the difference between the phenomena caused by excessive heat?
Sunstroke, heat stroke and heat shock are not one and the same condition, just with a different name. All are conditions that mean a disturbance in the body's thermoregulation. It is true that there is a similarity between them, but still they cannot be mentioned as synonymous words.
During sunstroke , a person suffers such a heat load that the body's heat regulation mechanism cannot function properly. This happens when we expose ourselves to strong sunlight or temperature. Its typical symptoms are headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness and burning of the skin and the body temperature may rise.
Although sunstroke is also often referred to as heatstroke , in fact the latter is a more serious condition. This is already a life-threatening category, because in the case of heatstroke, the body's thermoregulation mechanisms are completely paralyzed, and the body temperature rises dangerously high. In this case, the symptoms are headache, burnt skin, dizziness, disturbed speech and behavior, weakness. This condition calls out for a doctor.
They also used to mention hero shock . In this case, circulation problems and severe dehydration may occur. In this case, the body loses important electrolytes, the lack of which causes disturbance in the circulation. This usually occurs when we spend a lot of time in the sun, sweat a lot, but the fluid replacement is insufficient. The condition may be characterized by dizziness, weakness, cold and sweaty skin, low blood pressure and a rapid pulse. In this case, you can't skip a medical checkup either.
All three conditions can be dangerous, but it depends on the condition of the individual and the circumstances. That is why you can visit a doctor even with a sunstroke. It is better to see a specialist than to have a bigger problem.
