It is not just the livelihood of the rural people that they consume elderberry syrup. The scent of the now-opening plant also attracts insects and humans, plus it’s delicate.
We can make a delicious syrup and drink from its flowers, which can provide a pleasant taste and refreshment in the spring sunny period. However, its flower can not only be a raw material for drinks, but can also be included in other alternatives. Not only can you drink, but you can also eat the delicacy made of elderberry flowers. Have you ever considered firing an elderflower?
Probably few do this, though we can make it delicious. Let's tell you how.
All you will need are at least 10 pieces of elderflower, 2 pieces of eggs, 1.5 dl of cream, half a lemon grated peel, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of powdered sugar, a packet of vanilla sugar, flour and oil.
During its preparation, the elderflowers are washed with running water and drained. Mix the two eggs with the powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt, cream and enough flour to make a dough of the same texture as that of the pancakes. Once we are done with this, all we have to do is dip the elderberry inflorescence one by one into the pancake batter and then fry both sides in the heated oil. Sprinkled with cinnamon powdered sugar, we can serve the delicious specialty warmly.
You can also make vinegar from elderberry. Of course, this also requires the flower of the elderberry, including 12 palms, which we wash thoroughly after picking. This amount of inflorescence requires one liter of wine vinegar and a large bottle of dunts. Put the washed elderflowers in the glass and pour the vinegar on it. Screw the cap on and place in a cool, dark place for up to three weeks. The elderberry vinegar can then be filtered into a vinegar bottle and added to salads boldly.
You could even make an elderberry gel. Prepare 12 elderflowers, wash, then tear or cut the flowers. Put it in a bowl, to which add a liter of natural apple juice and lime to taste. Cover the bowl and rest in the fridge for an entire day. After the time has elapsed, strain the elderberry juice, and also push the flowers through the small-hole strainer. Add 3: 1 icing sugar to the drained juice. Boil over high heat, stirring constantly, for 3-4 minutes, then dip into 2.5 deciliter jars, screw the caps on and place the jars on their heads. Leave it for a few minutes, turn it over and let it cool down. Elder jelly desserts can be a delicacy to decorate, but you can even fool even simple butter bread with it.
