The differences between women and men are not only striking but also very characteristic. One of these may be that while men are hot in the cold, the limbs of many women are cold, despite the warmer temperatures.
There are a couple of people who feel the temperature quite differently. The man's t-shirt is almost blown off because he is warm and obviously not only plays it, but also sweats, while the woman has a much more layered outfit with cold fingers like icicles on his fingers. How familiar is this to you?
Perhaps you are one of those who are constantly experiencing the inconvenience of having cold limbs despite warmer weather. Huddle with your sweetheart, who is actually warming up almost impossible, because it really is like you hit the icicles?
The most accepted opinion on cold limbs is that the blood circulation is bad. Well, but only for women? For many women? In the case of men, this phenomenon is hardly experienced, in the case of the more beautiful sex, the case of ice-cold fingers and toes is common.
Subcutaneous receptors located beneath the skin are responsible for sensing temperature changes and responding appropriately. That's how it works in the normal way, so even in spite of the cold, the heart pumps blood into the capillaries. When it is cold and there is a vasoconstriction, these receptors sense the temperature change in the same way, but the capillaries are so narrow that they block the blood path, so the warm blood does not flow to the organs or the skin with such intensity. When the cold is detected, the body focuses mainly on the vital organs, as their blood supply and warming is more important, so less warm blood is released into the skin. It is mainly affected by the limbs and the face. In the extreme cold, of course, these parts are sacrificed by the body to enable other bodies to function. It is more typical for women that what men do not feel cold, the limbs of women are almost icy, because this process can be a little confused. It is enough for the blood vessels to shrink enough.
There is another explanation why the phenomenon of cold limbs is more typical for women. The estrogen level of women is known to be higher. The hormone present in the male body is much lower in their case. Because estrogen levels also affect peripheral vessels, they respond more sensitive to cold. The fat layer of women is basically greater than that of men, which, while protecting the internal organs, does not preserve the warmth of the skin. This means that it is easy to keep the heat in the body, but it is not possible for the skin to do so.
Well, so the ladies' toes and fingers are so cold. Just because they are women.
