The advertising opportunities on TikTok, which has its headquarters in the Czech Republic, are still relatively limited, after the Czech Republic, Hungary is the first in Europe to be able to advertise on the platform. If a Hungarian company wants to open to Western Europe, it can also reach the markets there from Hungary. It is definitely worth taking advantage of this opportunity, as TikTok is expected to be as popular and widespread as its predecessors, Facebook and Instagram, within a short period of time, but it may also outgrow them.
How can TikTok be an effective marketing channel?
It does not matter how we use these surfaces. Based on the experience of the past years, it is now quite well outlined what the pivotal points are, if you keep them in mind, the results will not be long in coming.
“We can see that Facebook and Instagram continue to soar, both have a concrete place when planning a marketing strategy. However, TikTok, which until now has been mainly known as a video sharing portal containing humorous videos, is quickly catching up with them, where people primarily go to have fun, among them the younger age group. We see that more and more people are opening up to TikTok, older people are starting to appear as well, and informative content is appearing on it in increasing numbers," László Kovács, owner of Follow Marketing, introduced.
TikTok users do not yet have banner blindness
TikTok's strength compared to Facebook and Instagram lies in the fact that it still acts as a novelty for users, who, guided by their curiosity, not only routinely scroll through the contents, but also look at them carefully. They have not yet developed the so-called banner blindness when they look through the ads; you can easily stand out with a good video.
"You can achieve great results with a video that adapts to the topic and addresses the specific target audience. However, on this interface, users are particularly sensitive to direct advertising, so it is necessary to strive for it to appear barely perceptibly in the video", shared Örs Baranyai, managing director of Follow Marketing.
No snarky comments!
Many people make the mistake of leaving their post to its fate after publishing it, no matter which forum it is. However, the comments or questions that come to it - either positive or negative - can harm at least as much as they can be used. The direction is up to us.
"Comments that clearly have harmful intentions and cannot tolerate printing ink do not necessarily have to be kept, in such cases censorship cannot be complained about. But it is just as important that we don't leave constructive comments and positive feedback unsaid, it is important that those who took the trouble to share their thoughts about us, our product, our service, feel that their opinion is important to us. Answering questions plays a significant role in building trust in addition to information transfer. Moreover, we can win many people over if we respond to a negative comment in a kind, helpful and sharp way. We only delete the comment if it is so malicious that this solution is not possible," suggested László Kovács.
Marketing is not the same as sales
Managers tend to expect immediate results from marketing and experience failure when they don't. They forget that marketing is not the same as sales. Its main function is not to generate quick money, but it is a long-term investment that will definitely pay off with persistent work.
"Gone are the days when someone could only get ahead with sales ads. Quality content production is now essential. You have to be there on all fronts, you have to be seen, you have to be heard, because in the current enormous advertising noise, this is the only way to get the message to the target audience. Reducing marketing costs is not the right strategy now, excessive savings can even lead to a significant market loss," pointed out Örs Baranyai.
Successful marketing is not only possible with a lot of money
If financial opportunities are temporarily limited, neglecting marketing is not the only solution. Experts have revealed that it is possible to achieve results without paid advertising on online community forums. The secret is the continuous, persistent work, the creation and management of interesting and valuable posts and videos. Although this requires a lot of time and energy, in return you can build a base of hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok in a few months.
“Anyone who wants to generate income through TikTok needs to look at what hashtags their target audience uses, what they like, what content they produce, what music they choose for their videos and so on. Those who want precise targeting and want to save themselves from lengthy testing processes can also turn to experts who, in addition to their knowledge and experience, will also help achieve the goal by providing professional tools," noted the manager of Follow Marketing.
More and more complex settings are required when targeting ads
"The regulation of online advertisements is getting stricter, which can even lead to a deterioration in their effectiveness if someone does not know the "loopholes".
