During our diets, we avoid consuming sugars, minimizing carbohydrates, but then the lesson is given on what makes living good, which is even healthy.
In many cases, we use several forms of potatoes, pasta and rice for our main dishes, and we find it difficult to see beyond that. Yet we need to rethink what garnishes we consume if we take carb reduction seriously.
If it’s not rice, no pasta, and no potatoes, then what can we serve with our food?
We live hot days anyway and crave light, cooling meals. We tend to make more difficult garnishes for the benefit of traditional Hungarian dishes, ie pasta or potatoes, but we don't have to give up on delicacies during the diet either, we just have to think differently.
During dieting or dieting, we pay attention to what we consume. Fruits and vegetables come to the fore. Vegetables can be used to make excellent garnishes that we can consume boldly without having to be ashamed and guilty when eating from them.
Zucchini can be an excellent substitute for pasta. It doesn’t hurt to have a spiral cutter that has both more expensive and cheaper versions. Peeled vegetables can be made into a thin spiral in a matter of seconds. Zucchini can also be cut into pasta with this structure, so it can be consumed as a side dish. After a little steaming, zucchini can already be eaten as a side dish with seasoning to taste.
Beets as a garnish? Yes, why not?! We consume undeservedly little of the very healthy beets, although this vegetable can also be used to make an excellent dough garnish. The raw beets also need to be steamed, then after seasoning to suit your own taste, it is excellent instead of pasta.
The germ can also be a decoration for restaurant dishes, but it can also be found in the garnish. Why shouldn't the germ itself be the garnish? It only takes a few minutes to simmer, and then you can come up with cold water to keep the germ crispy and you’re done with the garnish.
If you do not sow the beets, you can make a garnish in addition to beet soup and beet cake. Grating the spiral cutter or beet is also a good way to chop the vegetables and then serve either raw or after steaming for a few minutes.
Cabbage is not only good with pasta, but also stands on its own, as a side dish. The cabbage needs to be cut into thin strips so we will feel like we are eating pasta. We cook the sliced cabbage strips for two minutes, and after filtering our garnish is ready.
