The good weather has arrived and we are getting lighter clothes. So we are with the choice of our footwear.
Although it’s already a really good time, we also have to reckon with rain because of the unpredictable weather. Accordingly, we don't dare to start in sandals or slippers yet, but due to the humid heat, our feet can sweat into the shoes.
When we wear our shoes, we also put on socks or stockings, which can increase the sweating of the feet and can even lead to unpleasant odors. We can get rid of a lot of heat and sweat through our soles, which if it can’t evaporate freely can cause us discomfort in the form of foot odor. Although harmless, it is a condition to be avoided, so prevention is important. When sweating, the odor is caused by by-products from the bacteria present on the sole, so it is necessary to choose well-ventilated footwear and an equally good sock.
At the end of the day, it’s good to get rid of socks, shoes, and if possible, walk home barefoot as much as possible to ventilate your feet, and walking barefoot in the grass can have a particularly good effect on our feet, but even our souls.
The discomfort of foot sweating can be alleviated with natural agents that can also be implemented at home. One excellent solution is a baking soda with a baking soda. To four liters of lukewarm water, add four tablespoons of baking soda, mix all and soak our feet for 20 minutes.
Vinegar foot baths can also be made from ingredients found in their naturalness and at home. We can even use dietary vinegar, but apple cider vinegar is perhaps even better at refreshing our feet and getting rid of bacteria that give off an unpleasant odor. Stir in a cup of apple cider vinegar and add to 2 liters of lukewarm water. Soak your feet in it for 15 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm clear water.
What is still found in most kitchens is black tea, from which we can also make an excellent foot bath. Make a strong black tea in which you can then soak your feet for at least 20 minutes when lukewarm.
If you want to not only get rid of the smell of your feet, but also strengthen your mental and physical peace, you can use lavender essential oil after foot baths to massage your feet and not only kill bacteria, but also relax and provide a pleasant scent.
If you still have to face a foot odor, it is not a good idea to see a pedicurist, as there may be too many calluses, dead epithelial cells on the surface of the sole, and this causes unpleasant odors.
