Don't even know what to do with yourself in the heatwave? It is certain that attention must be paid to fluid replacement. Water is the best, but if you're bored...
Well, then we come up with some great ideas that not only provide fluid replacement and hydration, but also offer a slightly different taste and experience than water.
Among Hungarians, tea consumption comes to the fore especially in the autumn and winter period. That's when cold and flu-like symptoms mostly appear, and we often turn to (medicinal) teas to treat and relieve them.
Even in summer, it is worth consuming natural help, which is also used in folk medicine. Why?
Because herbal teas also hydrate, as they are made from water. Since we can easily become dehydrated in hot weather, it is important to drink enough fluids. Medicinal teas are excellent for this. If you eat it without sugar, it is even healthier, because they do not contain coloring or preservatives.
Medicinal teas are natural ingredients and several plants can have a healing effect at the same time. We are faced with a huge selection and many of them have a distinctly refreshing effect.
Healing and refreshing
The mint leaf is not only a decoration and flavor enhancer for food, but you can also sip excellent refreshing tea from it.
Chamomile is known for its calming, digestive and anti-inflammatory effects, but it is also great as a summer drink.
Hibiscus invigorates, refreshes and cools, just like lemongrass or rosemary tea. Let the tea cool and you can make it even more enjoyable and cooling with ice. Cheers!
Beyond water and tea
Water and tea, pipe. But if you get bored and want something more majestic, we have prepared some refreshing recipes.
Water with extras: you need 1 lemon, 1 tablespoon of honey, 4-5 cups of water, and an ice cube at the end.
Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice, which you mix with the honey. Add this to the water and mix, then add some ice cubes and you can enjoy your refreshing but not boring water.
Lemonade with extras: even plain lemonade can be boring, so add cucumber and mint to spice it up. You need 1 snake cucumber, 1 lemon, a dozen mint leaves, 4 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of honey and ice cubes. Dice the cucumber, cut the lemon into rings. Put it in a jug, add water, mint leaves and honey. Mix it all together and put it in the fridge for at least an hour. During this time, it not only cools down, but also the flavors come together. Throw in an ice cube and it's even cooler.
Fruit cooler: you will need 1 cup of Greek yogurt, 1 banana (you can use other fruit instead, if you like), 1 tablespoon of honey and ice cubes.
Toss and pour all the ingredients into the milkshake, when it has a creamy texture, pour it into a glass and enjoy it healthily with an ice cube.
