It's all like Christmas. And this is probably what many are experiencing now. Maybe even the sight of food can cause mild malaise.
We’re past Christmas, but there may still be plenty of festive food. Whether the food comes from our own kitchen or we got it from elsewhere, most of the refrigerators are probably stuffed. Christmas, joint lunches and dinners have already begun on Christmas Eve and can continue to this day. The sequencing of the usual dishes at such times is completely common in most families. We usually handle a lot of portions and stay in much more than we consume. A plethora of soups, roasts, fish dishes, sweets are waiting for us to consume them. The offer is not only wide on festive occasions, but even after that we consume these dishes for days. On the one hand, it is very good, because we become uncooked for days, but after a couple of times we don't feel like eating the same food again. Moreover, by now, the thought of bejgli can cause torment.
As much as we promise that Christmas shouldn’t be about the big devouring, still, not only is gifting a custom on this holiday, but eating is a must. z Of course, it is up to us how much we eat. By the end of the year, we’re getting tired enough and the celebration of love is coming just in time. Being together with family and friends and the most delicious dishes on the table tempt us to consume them. Plus, these are times when we finally have time for each other and the food. This holiday gives us the opportunity not only to throw in a few bites and go back to work, but also to spend time together, living the flavors and talking pleasantly over the food. In addition, many families typically line up with Christmas menus that are completely missed at other times of the year. No wonder we eat more and more of these hungry.
Digestive problems
Other times, we can eat more than we need to, but Christmas is specifically focused on eating. Food brings us together. But in this case, we put an extra burden on our body, which is a lot at once. Especially if the same schedule waited on our stomachs for the next several days. The extra strain that lasts for days plagues our digestive system so much that we experience painful symptoms: bloating, nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation. No wonder the balance of the intestinal flora is upset at this time. Not only many but many different foods can be a problem: fatty, heavy or spicy foods complete our digestion and typically involve less fiber, but more protein. We are more inclined to consume sweet soft drinks and alcohol, because being a holiday, there is a lot of it on offer. As a guest, we also try to avoid visiting the toilet and attack the room at home. This, in turn, can damage the digestive system.
You can prepare for another New Year’s Eve by switching to gentle mode. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated beverages, and eating too sweet and heavy foods. Water replenishment means water, and be careful to consume plenty of vegetables and fruits.
