Wash your hands, stay home, be creative, learn, teach, work from home, keep your distance, follow the rules! We live as listed.
At work, our main tools are our hands. We do a lot of things with it, so it’s natural to touch a lot of things. You don’t even have to be at work to work a lot and do it all with your hands. Many times, however, we reach for our faces without even realizing it. It’s so natural that if a hair ruffles our skin, we smooth it out or scratch our face, support our heads with our hands, reach for our eyes because something has gone into it.
In the current epidemiological situation, it is not recommended to do this at all. Don’t touch your face, it’s a light sentence that’s a lot harder to keep. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also announced that the epidemic has grown worldwide. We can do a lot with staying at home and washing our hands thoroughly. It is known that the coronavirus spreads by droplet infection, meaning that if the pathogen sticks to the surface of something and we touch it, it can also be transmitted to our skin. If we touch our face without washing our hands with soap, we run the risk of even getting infected.
Okay, we shouldn’t touch our faces, but it can also be a forced movement that we barely notice. We can touch our face in our fright and confusion.
It is very difficult to suppress this entrenched action within ourselves overnight. If we mantra to ourselves, "don't touch my face!" magic word, maybe we feel a greater urge to do it anyway. Let’s not get into a fight with ourselves, instead look for something else that we can touch or clasp our hands, put back. There are moments when it is still necessary to touch our mouth, nose, face with our hands, and this is when the use of a handkerchief is recommended.
When we pay a little more attention to our habits, the trigger may also come to light, and if we become aware of this, we may be more likely to prevent our hands from touching our faces.
