As a mother of small children, I wake up with one of the nursery rhymes or children's songs that were said during the day playing on the little music player in my brain. Familiar?
Of course, not only children's songs can get stuck in your ears and brain, but any tune you've heard during the day. You don't even have to like the music in question to have it playing endlessly. It's a phenomenon that happens to everyone and is called melody sticking.
A song can burn in your ears in such a way that it stays with you all day, or even accompanies you the next day. You can further strengthen this process by humming or singing loudly. And this is at least as contagious as yawning. You've experienced it countless times, but have you ever thought about why exactly that song, that particular line of music, stayed in your mind? All of this is not surprising if it is from an artist you really like, but if the music or the artist is not even your favorite, or even downright annoying, then why does your brain insist on it? It should also be added that even your favorite tunes can become annoying if you get a large dose of them and can't get rid of them. Or even the ones that are particularly annoying, but are still with you?!
Some songs not only make your ears dizzy, but other people's, that is, many. In the case of such catchy tunes, this means that the tempo, the lyrics, the mood, the melodic lead are such that they together make it possible for people to stick to the tune.
A song can creep into your gray matter in such a way that it is mostly triggered by hearing the song itself. If you can associate a good feeling and atmosphere with it, and you can dream while doing so, the chances are much higher that it will stay with you. But even in a stressful, tense situation, a song can break into your thoughts most unexpectedly.
Those who are more prone to stress, have anxious and compulsive things, the greater the chance that melody attachment occurs more frequently.
No matter how hard you try not to think about that tune, you can't fight it. he stubbornly stands by you, does not discourage you. A good example of this is that our little girl really likes a song and we have heard it so many times that my husband started singing it in the company of adults. Everyone around them laughed and asked what this song was. With the help of the Internet, he showed the song and after that every member of the team returned home to his family with this song in his head. Who knows who else they stuck the song on?!
If a boring tune can't get away from you annoyingly, then instead of fighting, choose the solution of listening to completely different genres of music. Maybe it will give your brain a fresh freshness.
