You don't need to understand something in particular for it to be able to fascinate you. It is the same with any art, but also with minerals.
Many are concerned with the effects of minerals on health, while others hope for luck and support by wearing jewelry made from different minerals. Some people collect the beautiful "stones". You don't have to think about the pieces you can find at various exhibitions and fairs, but they try to look for the most beautiful pieces by walking around nature and visiting sites.
The best thing to do as an amateur is to start collecting minerals, so that while looking for beauty, you can explore nature and get to know the domestic forests and deposits more and more. In addition, you don't need expensive equipment to start searching as a beginner. The starter kit can be purchased at any DIY store. Usually this means a hammer, gloves, chisel. Depending on how deep the initial enthusiasm deepens, additional tools can be acquired. If the curiosity does not subside, then the knowledge on this topic will also deepen. In other words, they constantly develop themselves in order to learn as much as possible about certain minerals and their origin.
Have you ever found a beautiful mineral during your hikes in Hungary? If so, you must have felt the urge to do more research in that area. Well, there are some deposits in our country where you can search, but some preliminary information is needed to be able to do all this legally.
Before we go looking for a gold nugget, it's worth checking whether it's private land or a mine where mining is still active, and whether the area is protected. If we ignore them, we may not only find ourselves in an unpleasant situation, but we may even violate the law, which may result in a penalty. And it is not only the legal part that needs to be taken into account, since the approach to dangerous places and the research there can be dangerous, and the passion for collecting can even lead to death.
Amateur here or there, we don't go looking for gold nuggets in our country. The Northern Central Mountains, the trans-Danubian deposits, do not hide gold. Our country is not rich in mineral resources, and the majority of collectors do not want to profit from their minerals. Growing the collection is usually the main driving force. Still, the lucky ones can come across something special that can even represent a serious value.
