The installation that Campona has set up at Tropicarium in collaboration with Zero Waste Hungary highlights the endangered endangered end-of-life plastic production and high water life. The primary objective of this initiative is to highlight the astonishing facts that one truck of rubbish is thrown into the ocean every minute, and that, as a result, marine organisms are exposed to an unprecedented threat.
“The undiscovered purpose of the action is astonishment, since we are not personally facing the problem in Hungary, far from the oceans, which does not mean that we are not involved. Tropicarium is the place where we can really experience the real ocean experience, which is why we think it is important to show the reality and draw attention to the importance of protecting the oceans, ”summarized Voice Kinga, marketing director at Campona, who is aiming at the campaign.
In the spirit of educating the environment, the shopping center organized a professional roundtable discussion for the press, in addition to setting up the installation, with the participation of renowned experts on the current state of the fight against climate change and the defense of the oceans. Gábor Garami talked to dr. Katalin Rodics with Nature Conservator, Greenpeace Campaign Officer, Edina Kump, Environmental Researcher, Waste Reduction Specialist, Author of the blog.com, and Farkas Vivien, Tropicarium Animal Carer.
According to Katalin Rodics, the role of the oceans, which cover 71 percent of the Earth, is also crucial because half of the oxygen we breathe is "produced" by the oceans. He emphasized that Greenpeace is striving at home and internationally to make substantial changes to curb the huge volume of waste emissions. Edina Kump added that we can do a great deal of plastic pollution in our own home, from small steps to full lifestyle change, the main goal being that everyone can recognize that they can contribute to the elimination of the plastic crisis. Farkas Vivien said that Tropicarium is trying to share the most information about their ocean and freshwater animals and their lifestyles, as well as the high risk of these animals being exposed to huge amounts of plastic waste produced by humans. .
The goals of Campona Shopping Center go beyond stimulating consumption and shopping, and they want to take part in environmental awareness education in the local community with their awareness-raising actions for environmental awareness. Part of this awareness-raising action is that after confronting people with the problem, it also highlights that everyone can do it for prevention. Visitors are encouraged not to use disposable plastic bags for shopping, but to look for eco-conscious solutions.
Tropicarium visitors can meet the real world of the oceans from June 5 to June 7, for whom Campona offers a limited number of eco shopping bags to support environmentally-friendly shopping and the fight against plastic pollution. On Thursday, representing Zero Waste Hungary, Eszter Gózon awaits the visitors with personal waste reduction advice, helping to find individual opportunities and make better use of it.
